Days of Our Lives Exclusive: As Nicole Waits by Holly’s Side, EJ’s Out for Blood: ‘I Can Ruin Their Lives’

We really hoped 2024 would be Nicole’s year on Days of Our Lives. She’d have to get her son back at some point and then all her pain and anguish would be a thing of the past. But now we’re just two days in and she’s been struck by even more heartbreak as she sits by Holly’s side in the hospital after an overdose!

There’s only so much pain she can take and there’s only so much EJ can do to protect her and help her. Holly’s fate is out of his hands… but those who caused this are going to pay! It’s just a matter of figuring out who did. Right now, Tate’s looking guilty enough that Brady stepped in to take the heat off of him. In truth, neither of them were responsible for Holly’s drug use — she took care of that all on her own — but EJ needs a target or two and they’re it.

When Dan Feuerriegel spoke with Soaps.com he made it clear that even as Salem’s DA, EJ is still very much EJ.

“He wants to be there for Nicole so he will support her emotionally and do whatever she needs,” he shared. “But in E J’s mind, ‘The only way I’m going to make this right is if I make the people who made her this way pay.’ And that’s very him. That’s very EJ.”

And that doesn’t bode well for Brady or Tate. Brady may be doing everything he can to protect his son, but his life may be in EJ’s hands now — and the vengeful DA can turn it upside down.

“It’s like, ‘This is what I can do,’” the actor explained. “‘I can make people pay. I can ruin their lives — or make it as uncomfortable as possible.’ And that’s his way of going, ‘Oh, I contributed to balance or justice in life and this way you can do it without taking a hit on somebody.’”

We suppose that’s good. Taking a hit out on Brady would be one thing (Not that it would be at all a good thing!), but trying to take out a teenager would be beyond the pale, even for EJ. But as he feels increasingly helpless in helping Nicole, who knows how much he’ll lash out. If he can use the law to ruin those he’s decided deserves it… watch out.

“I’ll be nice and vulnerable with Nicole,” Feuerriegel spoke as EJ, “but then everywhere else I’m like, ‘Nope!’ It’s putting on a show. He has to be EJ out in public.”

“But yeah,” the actor sighed, “that’s EJ. That’s his way.”

Let’s just hope EJ doesn’t get his way or two innocent lives could be destroyed! He’s trying his best to keep control, but as we’re seeing, that’s slipping more and more. Feuerriegel himself told Soaps.com that EJ has a breaking point. And it looks like it’s getting closer.

Brady and Tate’s only hope right now is for Holly to wake up and fess up to having gotten the drugs on her own. If she doesn’t pull through… God help them all. Nicole will be shattered and EJ will tear Brady, Tate and everyone he can get his hands on apart.
