The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Injured Chance’s Amnesia Story – Wakes Up Still In Love with Abby?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the show’s building to some scary moments for Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), so let’s talk about what’s in store. Chance feels like he’ll be stepping away from the danger now that he’ll mostly be sitting behind a desk as Genoa City’s new chief of police.

Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) confessed that she was relieved about that, but she apparently spoke too soon! Based on some anvils in the dialogue and a leaked photo from the hospital set, it looks like Chance will indeed get injured somehow.

Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) will presumably come to see hospitalized Chance since her return stint is coming up.

It seems Summer will visit Chance as well based on that hospital set photo we mentioned.

Chance could easily end up in a coma since this sounds like a pretty serious situation. There may be some scenes where it’s uncertain whether Chance is even going to regain consciousness.

Of course, we know Chance isn’t going anywhere, so he’ll indeed survive and open his eyes at some point.

That’s when Y&R writers might throw in a twist that could change everything.

Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton-Winters’ (Bryton James) relationship is going great, so they could use something that might cause a few bumps in the road.

Just imagine the drama that could result from Chance waking up thinking he’s still in love with Abby!

Perhaps Chance’s brain could jumble things up and make him confused about his romantic status.

Chance could revert to a happier time before Abby cheated on him with Devon and blew their marriage apart.

Since Chance went through so much trauma in Spain, his brain might even try to protect him from that, too.

Chance could awaken believing he’s engaged and planning his wedding to Abby or something along those lines.

That would certainly complicate things since Chance wouldn’t remember Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) – nor would he have a clue about Abby’s romance with Devon.

Naturally, this would pump the brakes on Chance’s budding relationship with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and cause a setback for Summer’s own romantic opportunity with him.

There are plenty of excellent reasons for Chance to get an amnesia storyline, so will that be the route that Y&R writers take?
