Currently on Days of Our Lives, Gabi is biding her time behind bars at Statesville prison. Meanwhile, Stefan is being forced to embrace a life of crime by Clyde, just to keep her safe in prison. Fans already know that Gabi’s portrayer Camila Banus has exited the soap for good. Thus, a prison stint on charges of offing Li Shin became the perfect way to take her character off the canvas.
However, going by the fact that Stefan is still determined to save Gabi from prison and bring his beloved back home. It is safe to say that Days of Our Lives is not writing off her character. Which only means one thing, with Camila gone, someone else will fill Gabi’s shoes. Interestingly, there have been many rumors about a possible recast. A possible casting call for a character that sounded a lot like Gabi had also recently gone viral on the internet.
Now, the rumor mills are churning that Days of Our Lives may have finally found a new Gabi! A little birdie chirps that actress Cherie Jimenez Faris may soon appear on screen as Stefan’s wife. However, neither the production, not the actress have confirmed this story. But we have to admit, she looks the part. If the story line supports it, she can certainly pull off portraying the iconic Gabi Hernandez. Just to see if she has any links to the soap, we checked her socials.
What’s Gabi’s Future on Days of Our Lives?
Surprisingly, Cherie does follow many of Days of Our Lives cast members from her official Instagram account. Some of them include- Raven Bowens (Chanel), Carson Boatman (Johnny) and Camila Banus herself! Cherie also follows the official Days Peacock account. So while there is no official confirmation to this rumor, there certainly are some tell tale signs!
After a deep dive into the internet, we discovered that she been part of some really stellar projects in the past. Including – episodes on Pretty Little Liars, NCIS, and The Newsroom. So it seems she does have the acting skills to pull off a stint as Gabi. That is, if there is any truth in this pudding. Moreover, there is another big looming question.
